Striving for the best sound means a lot of hard work and the use of the latest technologies. Our GLE loudspeakers, which have been redesigned both visually and technically, benefit from the progress we are constantly making in loudspeaker development. Precise and powerful bass is child's play for the two 174 mm woofers, which reproduce enormous bass in an optimally tuned bass reflex cabinet. Instead of the previous drivers with aluminium diaphragms, low-frequency specialists with highly stable titanium diaphragms are now in use: these can follow fast music impulses even more precisely. In the acoustically immensely important midrange, too, we use titanium drivers in the current GLE series. Thanks to the large 174 mm midrange driver, the GLE 80 sounds incredibly agile and shines with the best dynamics, outstanding resolution and unsurpassed balance. As ideal playing partners, we use our mature and well-proven aluminium-manganese tweeter systems with 25 mm domes, which are equipped with sophisticated waveguides for ideal sound dispersion and coupling and, thanks to optimised crossovers, enable reproduction up to 40,000 Hertz. The outstanding technical equipment of the current GLE generation is further underlined by the loudspeaker drivers with stable polycarbonate baskets, potent magnetic drives and triple folded wave surrounds.
