PERFECT CONVERSIONS

 

SARACON is an acclaimed software converter that boasts unprecedented conversion speed and a multi-channel file format. The program handles PCM files in every known sample rate up to 384 kHz. You can also use it as a word-length reducer, format converter, and POW-R ditherer.

Use SARACON for converting single files, or use the smart batch modes to interleave several different mono input file sets into multichannel files. Or — for very large file batches — use the Super batch conversion feature to keep your workstation busy overnight or over the weekend.

Running on both Windows and MacOS, the standard SARACON application works with PCM files exclusively whereas SARACON-DSD adds DSD support.

 

 

FORMATS

 

The output word-length can be set to 16, 20, 24, or 32 bits fixed point, or to 32 or 64 bits IEEE floating point. The word-length reduction uses flat TPDF dithering as well as any of the three POW-R dithering algorithms.

SARACON supports a plethora of input and output formats. These include wav, AIFF, AU, BWF, SD2, CAF, PAF, MAT, RAW, DSF, DSDIFF, FLAC, and Ogg/Vorbis. The number of channels is unlimited with PCM to PCM conversion.

The conversion algorithms employed are Weiss Engineering’s own — based on over four decades experience with digital audio format conversion.

 

 

DSD VERSION

 

The DSD version adds support for DSD64 and DSD128 in both directions, as well as DSD specific features that are not available in the standard version of SARACON. These include an extensive DSD conversion analysis with log files, selectable interpolation/decimation filter sets, flexible input to output channel routing, different modulators — each with its own options — dithering, and more.

The number of channels is unlimited with DSD to PCM conversion, while it is limited to six in PCM to DSD conversion.

SARACON is Super Audio Center’s recommended DSD converter.
